First hatch!

Man this little one is active! Knocking all the other eggs around and running all over the incubator.

Noisy too!

But it seems to be encouraging the others to work harder...everyone is starting to get more active.

Well it may be a while before I can get any more pics. Since the first one hatched the humidity has spiked to 80% and the windows are all fogged up now.

after the pip, it could be another 24 hrs before full hatch. if you see it breathing heavy it is okay it is just getting used to our air, and absorbing that yolk

This little one is really causing a ruckus in there....would it be better for me to take it out? The new chick is running all around knocking the other eggs together and rolling them over trying to find a friend. Is it safer to leave him in or take him out?

Also, the humidity is holding strong at 80% now - should I take out one of the plugs briefly to get is back down to ~65% or should I just leave that alone too?

This is me personally...I do a quick snatch out.

Chickadee how Much longer do you think. Because in the fall out on the pasture mammy would follow Reggie and bound into into the air and kick out her legs. It was the cutest thing so yeah I think she was probably in heat. But she's calmed down which I read means she is pregnant.

I don't know...5 months gestation.........she is under 1 year...............not long I would guess.
The ultra sound is a great idea..........It will help you know about a feed program..........
Don't want to over feed, but she will need some extra toward the end.
I really miss my sheep. I had registered Corridales.
One year they went nuts........and I had changed their feed program prior to breeding to a high protein diet.
I (they LOL) had almost all triplets a few twins.. Worked my self to near death.....
'As we grew older, it became more and more difficult to care for them,.feet trimming , lambing in the middle of the night ect.
And now chickens the past 5 or so years..............Its nice. Do not have to get up every two to four hours to feed orphan lambs........
