That's what I said.There are lots of birds that are purebred but don't meet the standard. Even when breeding tufted to tufted Araucanas you will get untufted because each parent only carries 1 tufted gene, it just results in way more lethal double genes that way. That doesn't mean that the untufted birds are not pure Araucana. It just means they are not show quality.
The same goes for off color Ameraucanas. They are still pure Ameraucanas, but not show quality because of coloring. Most classify them as EE.
