Day 20 twiddling my thumbs and waiting. Patience it a virtue right lol I really could use something positive happening in my life right now.

day 20 is about the worst. I find if I can get out of the house or stay busy somehow? Hoping for a great hatch for you!!

Wondering how we rate our hatches. There's percentages, but are they not including unfertilized? We include early quitters? Or just what makes it to lockdown? Thanks!

I don't know what everyone else does but I figure my percentage from fertile eggs.

well- i think most people count what makes it to lockdown, I don't count the clears but I do count it if it tries to develop- but not the day 3 stuff.

just make sure u do the math right! there was this post on here about this homemade incubator and her ratio was 40/41 and she's like tht's a 99% hatch rate! i has laughing forever

I have 54 duck eggs in a hova bator 1588 and 34 chicken eggs in a still air incubator, I also have an egg turner for the 1588 and would like to use it so I don't have to turn so many eggs.
But the egg turner only holds 41 eggs so I would have to put the extras in the still air Incubator.
Should I put the extra duck eggs in the still air incubator or would that mess them up since it is 2 degrees warmer than the 1588?

you can put something (a book?) under 1 side of the incubator to turn all the eggs at once!

I count anything that makes it to lockdown, so if I set 12 eggs and toss 2 clears and 10 make it to lockdown but only 8 hatch, I say it's 80% hatch rate
