Got my EBay eggs today!!! Gonna let them rest for a day and then straight into the bators!!!!
Are they Orpingtons?
All I see is flash. Turn that off and it will be easier to see. The bullseye is unmistakable, if you don't see it right off, flip the yolk to look at the other side. Oh, and the air sack is in all eggs. You will definitely see veins by day 10. I have some porous egg layers too, it's harder to distinguish the veins.Well, I'm new to the board recently. I'm new to chickens period! This spring we bought some babies at the local farm store, planning to raise them, then take them to the barn I board my horse at. Well, two went to the barn, but we became really attached to our two little banty's! Our golden seabright ended up being a rooster, so we found him a new home because we can't have rooster's. So, then we went on a search for a hen around our hen's age. We ended up getting a serama. Guess what?! Yup, SHE turned out to be a HE. So, we are currently looking for a new home for him as wellLove the little dude! He's so cute and sweet! BUT....recently, our hen started laying eggs! Surprised she did because we do not keep a light on her or anything. The first eggs came during the big storm and were frozen. I broke those open to look for a white speck or a bulls eye in them. I couldn't see a thing in any of them! Well, I bought an incubator on craigslist, just in case they are fertile. They have been in for 3 days. I'm so anxious! I candled today and I swear I see the line that you all are talking about! The air pocket area! Her eggs turn speckled when held to the light, so it makes it kind of hard to see much, but I swear I'm seeing it! Would nonfertile eggs also show that ring on the wide end? Yesterday she layed another egg, so I broke that one open and I swear I see the bulls eye! It's hard to see, and even harder to see in the pics. I will post the pics and maybe you all can tell me if you see it. If it is so, I would hope that means that the 3 eggs I have in the incubator are also fertile! In the pics, I think I see the bulls eye a little to the left under the flash from the camera. Closer to the bottom edge of the yolk. What do you all think?!
