No, not shipped, picked up... Hens in good shape, My hens are in good shape also and some of my eggs look the same.. The only thing I can think of is my bator says temp 101-102 and humidity 45-50 up until day 18.. Ive run it about a degree cooler but spot on with humidity.

I would say temps BUT you said the other eggs are "farther along".. Im going to assume they are in the same bator? maybe hot spots??? What kind of bator are you using, maybe that will help me wrap my head around this..

Oh my gosh it is so cold here tonight and the wind is blowing so hard that we have huge drifts forming across our yard and pasture and not gusting wind steady strong winds from 35 to 45 miles per hour I feel bad that I am making the flock rough it in the coop but taking them back and forth between the coop and the garage is getting old. Just went and checked on them they all seem pretty content and just in case I threw them some popcorn lol. supposed to have a low of -20 tomorrow and a high of -5. Glad I am safe and warm in my house and have some time to candle my eggs this is my first hatch so very excited to see them moving for the first time today we are at day 14 12 and but 3 dozen more in yesterday lol I am so bad.

I'm so sick of dealing with this cold weather and the winds..

I have used the dry incubation method with good results (link in my signature). the idea is not to add any water days 1-18 and allow the egg's evaporation to create humidity, around 25-45% ideally

then, I increase to 55-65% around day 19 or when I see the first internal pip. temp sounds good, I aim for 101F in my still-air..


edit: the thermometer and hygrometer built-in to storebought styrofoam incubators are always off (mine is off by 10 degrees and 10%), make sure you have another device or 2 to measure temp and humidity

I use the still air Hove Bator, one of the further along looking eggs sat right beside the one I took the picture of.. I do not use the temp gauge that came with my incubator, instead use a Digital one that has so far been very accurate..

Loved dry hatching was super easy and for a first time incubating got 43 of 45 to hatch I'd recommend it to anyone

I was going to but with the German's didn't want to risk it, had such a good hatch last time figured I would do the same this time and test it with my next hatch... And I agree, the built in temp thing that came with my incubator didn't make it past the first week with my last hatch, it was a full 7 degree's off

I'm gonna grab a few of my eggs after I'm through this batch and try it.. I was just scared because of the eggs I really wanted to hatch and didnt want to mess those up...

I just bought a incubator that has a digital humidity and temperature on no windows. Should I be worried about it
