Day 16 candling question. I have one egg that was rather large. In earlier candling it appeared to "maybe" have 2 yolks so I decided to wait and see. Now I see lots of growth in there, and air sack at the top, but there is an odd circle of blood at the top near the air sack. It's a distinct circle of red with clear in the center. I don't see any movement inside now, but I did 2 days ago. I smelled it for dead smell and it's ok. Should I wait until lockdown and if I see no movement and it still has the red circle, just toss it out? I hate to have it be dead and turn rotten during lockdown and the hatch days.[/quote

Well im not a pro myself but i think you should leave it in there just in case it has two yolks and maybe a chick is developing or two

I feel scrambled egg comming on! - I think it must be the bator. I was willing to give it one more try with eggs that were not shipped and bumped about. But this is just so
upsetting - I managed to get all this way without getting worried and stressed but these are the worst days Waiting and waiting and NOTHING!!!!!!!!!

DAY 22 - I know it is early days especially since the heat didn;t seem too great. But - I was hoping for some sign of life? A movement a chirp?

I'm sorry your hatch is late. I'd give it a couple more days if it doesn't smell bad. Also, have you candled to see if there's any movement? Good luck!!

Congratulations on all the new babies................
I have one out and no other pips yet.
It is lovely, a nice blue from my layer flock.. BLRW roo and blue orp  cross I think
The weather is bitter.ran out of dog food.....................poor pup.(great dane)
Stocked up on chicken food and forgot about him..................
We live in a very small community and one of the clerks at the little store
just dropped off dog food and ice cream.( It's going to be a long night.
Still in blizzard conditions and freezing rain expected later this afternoon.
We are fine, use to it, but still worried if we lose electricity.................

Hatch update! I just hatched 10 out of 14 wheaten/blue wheaten ameraucanas that went into lockdown. It seems like I get better hatch rates this time of year.
I took them out of the bator yesterday.

Also an updated pic of my splash ameraucanas that hatched last week:

They are so cute and nice personalities too <3
My next hatch starts 2/20 and staggered hatches through 3/1. Good luck with your hatches, everyone!!
