I use shelf liner (the spongy rubbery stuff) on the floor. It's the best. That way there is no possibility of food confusion and it's also super easy for them to walk on it. No slips, and virtually no chance of splay leg from the flooring.
If you have a little beanie baby or something, toss it in. They like to cuddle up to it under the lamp. I have a turkey beanie baby that is the most popular one here.

Yep, everything is set up. All my chicks, ducklings and now baby Quail are inside a small heated building. I have some chicks in there right now too so its already warm. I only have 5 eggs in the bator and I don't know if any are growing because I can't candle them! Its killing me!
