25/25 developing, 3 air cells not quite stable, but all in all looking good. I had to look day 5. Just to make sure.

i hope it goes well for you this time then. Maybe try more humidity at the end?I have a borrowed incubator, I suppose the owner may want it back at some point. Unfortunately I don't have the space to hatch more batches. We are only giving it a 2nd shot because my 1st one was almost a total failure. Only got 1 to hatch out of 10 eggs that went into lockdown. All 9 of the others were all fully grown but got shrink wrappedanyway after this next try I won't be able to do it again for a while... either to replenish lost chicks/hens or when we finally get a house with a bigger yard. If I can get the eggs I'm going to set on the 3rd!![]()
It is always good to have a place to sell chicks. The local hardware has a deal with me on selling my chicks there too..the deal is basicly i can put them in there for sale, i have to keep them fed and watered and bedded but i get 100% of the sales lol. THe hardware store loves me and OH. So now problem two is how to do i keep enough chicks on hand to sell at once. my max capacity right now for hatching is 48 eggs every 18 days..unless i switch and incubate in the cabinet bator which holds roughly 150 eggs and hatch in the 48 egg bator lol.My auto turner seized, so had to go old school and do a couple of hand turnings. Went to TSC and got another turner. Resisting messing with the TJ eggs until Day 5, then they should be good and veiny if they're going to ride the bator bus to Hatchville.
A staffer at TSC wants my chicks (especially the production layers), so nice that I have an outlet for all this insanity. Apparently hasn't been happy with the local hatchery they use or the chick quality.
Thanks Thats The plan! My humidity was 65% during lockdown however it did drop below while I slept and after testing my hygrometer when the hatch was over it reads about 3% less then it should. So this time around I may keep it at 70% and get it up to 75% before I go to bed so if it drops it'll still be a good %.i hope it goes well for you this time then. Maybe try more humidity at the end?
good luck! Can't wait to see pics.i candled muscovy and chicken eggs last night....lots of movement!! i have 7 out of 12 muscovy eggs left i pulled a confirmed clear and one bloodring. For chicken eggs i have 7 of 11 left if i remember right. pulled out one confirmed clear. There is one egg that i can not see thru enough to tell if anything is in it or not so i might lose one more. They go into lockdown tonight.
Just make sure you watch humidity when they start to hatch because it will go way up when the first few hatch out from their wet little bodies. Thanks Thats The plan! yes when the one I got to hatch finally made its way out it shot up to I think 79% but it made its way back down rather quickly. Although I suppose had more started to hatch it would have gone higher. I think I will leave one vent plugged up in case it gets too high then I can remove it.Just make sure you watch humidity when they start to hatch because it will go way up when the first few hatch out from their wet little bodies.
i can't wait for the barnyard chickies to hatch!!! Good thing i have plans for new years and saturday..not sure i could handle it lol.
Happy New Years Everyone!!
