Let a broody hen have 12 eggs today, to compare to the results from my incubator which I will set eggs in on Wednesday.
Good ideal. Comparing hatch rates of natural and artificial.

Day 4! Looking really good in almost every egg in there.
And just found out that someone else who bought some eggs from me to incubate has candled her eggs and they have veins. That really makes me feel hopeful.
Collecting eggs now to start mine on Wednesday.
I found a second turner (left over from my old incubator that I sold 10-15 years ago.
I'm storing eggs there until I have enough to fill the incubator.

I'm wandering if we know the same guy. The one I got 2 dozen eggs from knows good and well I don't do bantams but at least 11 if not a total dozen were bantam eggs. I just picked thru them and set all the large girl and one that looked bigger bantam egg but not large fowl either. I did that so I'd come out with an even number eggs.
I wasn't even picky about the breeds either. I did have a total of 46 eggs set though.
