At 3:30pm my first baby bantam hatched, I also have a second one that it partially zipped. I will post pics when they dry off I do not have a lot of light where it is located in my chicken room. First babies of the new year what a way to start 2017.

Well through the night 5 bantams hatched and there are 2 that are zipping now, and there are three external pips and two internal pips. I set these eggs on Tuesday the 13th so they really should have hatched tomorrow. I guess they just were so excited to meet the world that they came earlye

Ooh, if I get another broody I would love to get some dark Brahma eggs. Where did you get them?

I love frizzles, I'm really hoping to add 1 to my flock next year. I set 27 Easter Egger eggs (various hens under an Easter Egger rooster and a Legbar rooster), 4 Bielefelder eggs and 5 Gamefowl eggs from a friend's flock (hopefully all goes well since they had a 2 hour drive and were 1 week old before being placed in the incubator). The EEs and Bielefelders are from our own flock.

How are you doing with your wonderful assortment of eggs? Good luck with the Gamefowl. I couldn't get the frizzles, but the Brahmas arrived in very cold weather, so I just don't know how viable they will be.

I will be setting about 2 dozen eggs on Wed Jan 4th. These hatchlings will be a surprise lot as I'm getting a mix of eggs from a local chicken lady. We moved last year so I gave away all of my hens. Now that we are settled into our new home I'm ready to start a new flock. Totally different climate here so I'm learning all over how to best build a coop and keep my hens comfy in a much cooler climate.
