January 2023 Hatch-a-long

Pics
I realized I have some cool spots in my LG incubator. I went to buy a hygrometer thermometer (here is the link AcuRite brand), and the temp showed to be only 91 degrees at the cool spot. I only put the thermo there for an hour, not sure if I have to wait long for accurate reading.
What do you guys do when you have cool spots in incubator?
I load em up and rock on, but never seen it low as 91. I can see that being a problem.

So, I wasn't going to hatch in January so that I wouldn't have to dig out the Big Red Bulb to give the brooder plate an assist and keep the water thawed, but since my 12-week crossbreed culls just sold out on Craigslist in 2 hours -- including the cockerels -- and the guy who bought them said that nobody has chickens available and people have waiting lists, I'm considering it.

I'm at least going to set up my incubator tonight and run it to make sure all is well and then I'm going to pray about it.

My girls have gotten going nicely over the past couple weeks so I do have eggs to hatch.

Congrats, and best of luck. If you do go through with it, what sort of chickens(mixed or certain breed?) do you think you'll hatch?

Australorp and Australorp crosses. I haven't been sorting the eggs and trying to identify individual hens or breeds. They're all in one basket so I figure I'll pull out the most perfect eggs from whatever hens are laying.

Figured out that AcuRite is not very accurate, like 3 degrees cooler than actual temperature, so it’s 94.
I increased the incubator temp to 101 degrees to improve the cool spots and have to turn them around more often.
The Farm Innovators that I have basically has fried electronics. I set it to 101 and things seems to work out well. I definitely have extra gadgets in that one.

3 babies hatched. 1 is a silkie. 2 left one external pip, one just internal pip still.

These are the best pics I can get since they are still in the incubator.

I had to sneak the silkie out real quick. The coloring looks so cool. It is a blueish/silvery/and yellow coloring. Maybe the black skin still showing through?? The other silkie (hatched Tue) is yellow.
