January Hatch-a-long 2018

I am not used to having clear in the point, on day 18, (I had 6) I am using a brinsa 40 octagon, I have not used before, and I just discovered the vent today. It was slightly open, I opened it up, it is keeping the incubator cooler, about 99.

Hey Scott, I went to move an egg that had a clear tip, because I didn't like how i positioned it in the incubator, and since I was already there, I candled the tip area, so since this morning, it has filled in some, and I see the chick still moving about. This is doable, it really makes me feel better, and if you see that video on you tube, they show a chick sucking the fluids in through it's bellybutton, and that is what they are doing!:ya

Hey!! Is there anyone on this thread that has some really cool coloured eggs who would want to do a swap with some Blue Copper Marans eggs? Sorry my pics are really crappy - Marans Colour Missy lays around a 5, Monique lays closer to 7 - they look much darker than this in real life.

Here is a question, for those who are hatching and those who have hatched... anything you would like to do different next time, or anything you would like to try?
mmmmmmh - I am second guessing EVERYTHING now ...

1) I think I may add water earlier to ensure I'm at least at 60% for hatch ....... ummmmm
2) I will date all my eggs when I collect - I like the idea of collecting data on hatch rates vs days sitting before hatch
3) I will measure air cells - something I've just learned on this hatch along
