im going to be getting silkie eggs shipped to me when i get them how long do i have to wait to put them in the incubator ive never got shipped eggs before i cant wait

i know that all of us will end up with some roosters and i was just wondering what do yall do with them if you already have one i know that two roosters will get in to fights and i dont want that to happen

Did you end up ordering eggs from shanna? @thewolf1039 If so all but one of the 5 silkies I got from her are developing beautifully. I’m expecting a good hatch from them

I have another pip! That makes egg #4. Only 18 more to go lol!

And I think I'm just going to sell my roosters once they get a decent size. We have a big chicken swap in my town and I'm sure someone will want them. And if nobody does...then I guess they'll be going to freezer camp! I've got my brooder set up and ready to rock once these guys decide to actually hatch. I'm so excited

Thank you! I just discarded 5 eggs that were not fertile and now I still have 16 and if everything goes right 16 babies which I’m sure I’ll lose a couple more but at the moment I have a 63% hatch rate and I’m pretty positive I will get at least a 50% hatch rate if it comes down to it. In my opinion that’s definitely not bad for shipped eggs. Good luck with your hatch!

I candled tonight day 9 for these eggs..... started with 44 pulled 3 blood rings and 7 clears tonight..... I still have a few that are too dark to see into so they are staying for now.

What breed is in the 6th photo?

That is a Columbian Plymouth Rock. Similar coloring to a Delaware. She's a Beautiful girl. They have shorter legs than the barred rocks. Plus a cute squaty body as I put it, and cute fluffy butts! I got one photo of her from behind ....
