I'm going crazy thinking about these chicks today at work!

i think i might us a heating pad in the brooder when the chicks hatch but i dont know how

do i put shavings over it

A heating pad might get too warm.

So far I have 3 hatched and 3 more in the incubator. Two of them that just hatched have the EE beard which is too cute.

Yes! There is a technique called Mama Heating Pad (MHP) for chicks in the brooder. You make like a little cave that simulates getting under a hen. Search around on here for it and the posts will tell you all about it and how to do it! I'm doing it in my brooder!
