January Hatch-a-long 2018

Pics
Yesterday, I had candled on day 5, I set some in a separate incubator, so I could keep and eye on them. I put 3 back into the regular incubator, and remove one because of a blood ring. but it was nice to put 3 back! And my nail polish egg is still in the separate incubator.

My first chick that hatched is doing wonderfully by herself. Unfortunately no one else has hatched yet! This isn't a GREAT photo, but it shows that she's fluffy enough. lol I think it's a barnevelder or barbezieux chick? It was a pale egg with a B on it and I know I bought both, so I have no idea which one.. can you guys help me with which one? I'm hoping Barnevelder, but honestly either would be great. And of course if you know already that it's a girl that would be wonderful, as well. LOL Sorry for the poor quality when it comes to her head, I feel like you can't see much detail. I'll try to post more later. This is just the only one I have right now. She was NOT expected at that time she came.
Also, ignore the 88 and 106 - I had her in an incubator during that time so she wasn't subject to those swings of temps! :) I was getting it just right for her.

Cute baby...

My friend who wanted roosters came and got my LO's and 2 of my 7 week old roosters, blue Isbars. She promised she would not eat them, I said, she could rehome them, or bring them back, because they were purebreds.
Catching the big LO was a challenge one even plucked a hair from my head, because he was mad.

I just found this thread. Can I join? I put 12 silkie eggs in my new Christmas bator on 12/28. I candled on Friday (day7) and so far 12 little wiggling embryos jumping around. This is my first batch that I have anything on day 7. 1st 2 attempts were in still air LG, that I just couldn't figure out how to regulate temp and some were shipped eggs that USPS took the scenic route. Last attempt was for NYD hatch but my rooster had just taken over being alpha after I lost my alpha and I had 12 unfertile. So it has been a long few months and I am hoping to get at least a few to hatch. Although 12 would be awesome too.

Ok so the above post I typed out and didn’t realize I never hit post reply.
I have been researching setting up my brooder. I’m setting up a wire dog crate with cardboard around the sides and using a mama heating pad set up.
I candled tonight day 14 and I’m not quite sure what to look for they look like dark blobs. I did see movement of wing or feet not sure in 10/12. Air cells have gotten a little larger than on day7. Should I be checking anything else at this candleing?

MORE FLUFFERS!!! On our way home from work my DH said he thought we'd have 4 babies total when we got home. I guessed that we'd have 6. Well when we got home we had 9  they're all doing so good! Got my brooder turned on and warmed up and moved em over! They're so cute:love

Now I have a question for you guys! I've got at least 6 more pips right now but when I opened the brooder to move the chicks the moisture was released. So I immediately put more water into the wells and also misted the eggs. The humidity went right back up to around 85%. But this one looks like it might be shrink wrapped? I did an assisted hatch for an egg in my last batch that was completely successful due to shrink wrapping. So now I'm kind of paranoid. What do you guys think? Its the white egg
