January Hatch-a-long 2018

Pics
Lost almost a whole batch of eggs in my first incubator. I'm more hopeful on the 2nd incubator - it's an rcom mx50 and the temp/humidity has been very stable so I'm hoping that the eggs will develop nicely. I didn't see many infertiles. I do worry about the sizing of the eggs, but they are bantam eggs, I believe. - Not quite sure. (Are all silkies bantams? Or am I confused? LOL)

I'm sad because not a single barnevelder that I bought from someone on here developed, and I'm 100% sure it was my incubator's fault. It overheated I know of at least 1 time to 105 degrees.. the numbers just swung so wildly, that I'm not sure how much they could have succeeded in the first place. It didn't seem that way in the first week, but as time went on it became clear. Luckily, I bought the r-com quickly after the first signs of warnings.

Day 6. I took a quick peek at some and saw movement! :wee

No changes in the 2 questionable eggs. Probably infertile. I've made myself promise no more candling till day 10. Dang that's going to be hard. Hopefully people share how their eggs are doing. So I can live vicariously for the next 4 days.

I think we have eggs from the same seller! My Marans eggs are marked with identical "M"s. Our chicks will be siblings. I'll be watching your hatch with extra anticipation and excitement.
