January Hatch-a-long 2018

I love seeing all these eggs getting set! Let the hurry-up-and-wait-begin.

I put 11 Marans eggs in last Friday. They're a mixed lot of eBay. Could include Blue, Copper, or Birchens.

Today is Day 5 and 9 look fertile. 1 is too speckled and dirty to tell. Last egg looks clear. It's still way to early to purge anything but I still like checking this early.

i love silver laced wyandotte thats what all of my birds in the incubator are mixed with that is the breed of my rooster they are very pretty and sweet

My 18 SLW eggs in my home-made bator. It did great for me last year.

The reason I ordered eggs is because my young LO roosters were not fertilizing my eggs. they did hit these 3 though, one is due on the 11, the other 2 on the 16th. .....

Good news!!!!!!Ebay let me know the eggs I ordered were shipped today. I am guessing it will take 2 days from the neighboring state.

More good news! My friend who is loaning the incubator called, I can pick it up today! She has no eggs for me, in fact I have to bring her a dozen eggs to eat because her chickens are not laying, but they are older.

These are my 8 eggs What should the humidity be in a still air incubator

Temp in still air should be 102. I never worry about the humidity in mine,

I put 1 cup of water in the still air incubator, with a penny from before 1982 and keep it full till day 18 the raise the humidity by putting in a sponge on day 18. Here is a tip, don't spray water on the eggs, (unless they are duck eggs, and even then talk to a duck egg expert) and don't set wet paper towels on egg ever.

That's going to depend on where you live. And how humid it is naturally.

the temp in the bator stays around 101 is that ok the himidity stay around 50
