I'm not sure if anyone has any eggs due a similar time to me but I'm on day 17! I've unplugged my auto-turner so they have plenty of time to position themselves. I'll be candling tonight before lockdown. What's the bald patch on hens for?

They will lose, and pluck feathers, really helps give the eggs the humidity they need.

Day 10 was yesterday. Lost one. But, got a new layer today! Pretty happy about it. It's my Plymouth Rock, and she's taken her sweet time. A real pretty cream colored egg.

Hi guys I have a weird mistake I’ve caused Lol I put my eggs in at different days didn’t realise the consequences... I have Aylesbury duck eggs in the incubator one on day 18/19 and rest of the duck eggs on day 11 I have also my own backyard chicken eggs (Rhode Island Red Cross Plymouth barred rock roo) I’ve just put into the incubator this morning (day 1) and was hoping I could still join this hatch along as I may need a bit of support with helping ma babies hatch! Thanks all would

The mom hen is still on the eggs the egg due Jan.9/10 may have a pip, or one of my other hens may have pecked it, but it is still in tact. Momma hen doesn't want to leave the eggs. I did some muck raking,and I have dresser drawers on the lay boxes that were very heavy with droppings I had to carry out and empty.since nothing is frozen at the moment, scattered hay about. Then took garbage to the dump. A lot of work, but the hens always like the new hay, and organized areas.

I bought a trio of chicks from the same people I bought these hatching eggs from. I'm usually hatching the Australorp chicks here from my own flock.

Here is Daisy, I may have to change his name to "dezi" He is very sweet! He has a crest because he is Blue Isbar/leghorn/legbar.

I'm so excited for you guys too! I've been wanting more CCL since my only hen got taken this summer. I was able to put 5 eggs she left me in the bator in August but only hatched out one. One other egg wasn't fertile and the other 3 had fully formed chicks inside that just didn't hatch. I was so upset.

But my one CCL chick was a pullet! Sadly she was taken only a couple months later by a hawk.

So I've been waiting until I got my incubator (DH Christmas present) to get some more. I should be putting in 6-12 eggs early February if everything works out!

I will show picks of my coop, (it is a gray day so hard to make things look charming!) I will not have all my birds pictured, it is a chalet with 2 covered porches, the main building someone else made, and I filled in the porches, looks bad, works good

This is a filled in sun porch, I use it to store feed, and there are a couple nest boxes, birds in the main building. more to come.

The turkey is a girl named Jerry, The buff is a BO "Buffy" The Cuckoo Maran is "Bette", Next to her is Mauve a blue Isbar, then Bebopalula mix, and Blue bell LO and cochin mix.

That's good! Shhhhh.... don't tell anyone, but I am a hatch-a-holic. I ended up buying a second incubator now, because I was hatching my Australorps all summer, and people were coming over to buy the chicks straight run as they hatched out!
