You're going to drive yourself crazy hovering all day lol the sayings are true. A watched pot never boils, a watched hen never lays, ...and a watched egg never hatches! Pry yourself away and try to pass the time doing something else. Also, don't worry about the pip. Chicks can survive for like 2/3 days without food and water after they hatch. That's why day olds can be shipped in the mail. So your chick pipping and staying in the shell will be ok. I never worry about any pips getting bigger or anything for AT LEAST 24 hours. Give em time and don't fret! Hatch rate is normally based on total FERTILE eggs - start eggs can, a lot of times, include infertile eggs which doesn't give you a true hatch rate, because they would never hatch
