so im waiting for my egg to zip and i get this crazy idea of getting chirping noses and putting it up next to the incubator they seem to hatch faster when there is chirping noses but i dont want the chick to get out of the egg and there not be a chick in there
I would guess give the egg a shot, and wait to see if it needs assistance when it gets to hatch time? I'm not an expert, but that would be my intuitive response, based on everything I've read about assisting. Hopefully someone else will come along who knows more!
Just leave it in there, it will hatch if it's moving around inside the egg. Try to find the beak in the light and make sure that's on top. That's all I'd do, personally.
Scott, that is not mal-positioned egg clear in the point after day 16 is no an extra "air cell", there is fluid in the point of the egg, it will take time to absorb that fluid. and it can still hatch, just don't think about popping open that egg. ( I found some of my eggs also have clear in the point day 18, but lock down begins 3 days before the hatch, 18,19,20,21 so that is 4 days, we are jumping the gun just a bit...
Good news is you have a few days yet for the egg to absorb, give that egg more time than normal.
Okay that is great to hear! I definitely don’t feel like I need to open it at all. If it was day 25 then that would be a different story. I am just glad that will most likely be absorbed and can go on with growing. Still no pips tomorrow is day 19 so maybe I will get one to start popping tomorrow. That would be great. I swear if someone told me to go pray to the chick hatching gods now on back yard chickens I would do it if they said it worked lol.
