I lost my little runt baby a few minutes ago. It was last to hatch and much smaller than the others. I heated up a wrap, took it out of the brooder about 30 minutes before knowing it was close to the end and allowed it to stay on our laps until it expired completely vs being trampled on by the others.

I just found my bator at 95. I goofed.



I feel sick...I turned it down a tad this morning and forgot to triple check it allllll day.


I'm going to candle all of the eggs now.
Two of the three I just checked do not look good.

@Texas Kiki I hope that it will still be ok. How many day's were you into the incubation?

Should I help this chick out of it's egg? It's been pipped since around 4:00 yesterday.

Is the one that pipped out? I would definitely pull that cap off. They shouldn’t take that long.

Is the one that pipped out? I would definitely pull that cap off. They shouldn’t take that long.

remember low is better than too high.....they may be delayed but hopefully didn’t hurt the hatch overall.....I haven’t had a hatch yet that stayed at temp all the way through due to factors beyond my control

I think I freaked out too quickly.

I didn't see movement in two of the eggs I checked but I probably didn't look long enough.
I just checked those two again and there is movement...I think they are fine.

Here's the other 2 in the bator. They are now in brooder so 3 healthy fuzzy butts so far although only one is all black one has pink toes and a lil white on wing tip. One has a white toe nail but otherwise black. 3 more unhatched don't think they will they are 5 days late. I'm going to upgrade to a quality bator soon. Had one pip and shell started to crack and seperated from membrane and started to shrinkwrap so broke him out and had to tape his feet flat hes eating and drinking but may not make it we'll see.
