In a couple of months you should check out the Paypal/Hatching egg swap (have to be a BYC member for 3 months before you can swap.) There are several members that offer Swedish Flower Hen and Isbar eggs. This spring I have 6+ Isbar and 12+ SFH eggs coming to me . For each one I offered $16 Paypal. I have 7 SFH eggs in the bator now and when I candled last night 6 were veining beautifully and the 7th one was questionable. I love getting eggs off of there because you know they are coming from good stock and reputable people.
TY, I'll check it out.

Well you learn something new every hatch and i sure did this one.

This one got bad scrambled in shipping and bad cold.3 looked good at lockdown only 1 tried to hatch.. humidity and temp correct whole hatch
Assisted after 24 hours pipped...
Once out The chick was curled in a fetal position couldn't get him uncurled
just rolled around kicking its feet.
Worse gasped for air and sleeping most of the time .If he moved he gasped.

I thought it would die i n 24 hours.So sad.
24 hours went by next morning ....still alive...

Day 2--- i gave it liquid crumbles, egg sugar poli vi solmix but he didnt want to eat. still he swallowed a few times as it ran in.just slept and gasped for air
- fed him again a few times a day in case he was hungry until he died
He laid there.eyes mostly not open in the bator on his side as still curled up but i would find him all over the bator he was scootching around on his side and flipping around.

Day 3 ---Morning hes standing!! NOT curled PERFECT on his feet head up not down....TRUE MIRACLE.!!
.Stands like any chick and can walk too no "curl" residuest but was breathing really hard cant stand long. then asleep every few minutes

.Day 4 ---Again moring expect him dead ...NO! STILL: In the bator alive !! Using the bator as a a brooder b/c i thought if lungs not heart had liquid in them they may dry up if the humidity is low its 17 in there. Rooms usually 45 or 50
So Today i am so encouraged....he standing whenever i peek in,. He peeps a lot and cos which he hadnt done at all..He is wanting to stand most of the time but gets tired here and there a Little but not so much now.VERY wiggly. He is strong!!
Still gets winded if afraid or flaps his little wings but better all the time .Loves it in my lap under the soft piece of sweater

Im am getting attached to this little fighter and named it Blessing as its sure a blessing its still here for now anyway..AND HES more and more active TODAY
AND WANTING to eat the eye drop feedings ..not hard food yet but the liquid.

LESSON TO ME ; DONT GIVE UP TOO SOON
He was truly HOPELESS and i was SURE he would die .If i had the heart i would have culled him first day . such a mess..but I just couldnt do it.Im too weak
My lesson was dont give up too early on a seemingly totally hopeless case.
Even if he does die at least he had a few days of life cuddled in my lap and fed and walked a little like a real chicken.

FYI He is a HinkJC baby and truly the prettiest baby i ever have had ..so fuzzy and big.

My fingers are crossed for this little fighter and i have a glimmer of hope now .
POWER TO BLESSING.......
