My chick is almost a month old now, and she has been alone all this time. I guess if you don't know what company is, you can't miss it. I feel so sorry for her and have been trying to get some eggs to hatch again, but still haven't been able to. It's prolly too late now, but I will get her a buddy one way or another. For now she will be my snuggle- bum. :3i decided to open them today. I carefully made a hole in the air sac so if they were alive i wouldn't hurt them. NO movement. No breathing. They were fully formed, yoke almost completely absorbed. Looks like they died just maybe 2 days before hatch. It makes me so mad. I know in my heart that the construction outside shaking my house caused trama to them and killed them. I did the egg topsy today after I caught the incubator just before it fell off the table from the construction causing the house to shake. I don't keep it near the edge.
I had 3 other eggs in an incubator that were doing great but got blood rings caused by the vibration. They were only 2 weeks into the incubation. this all makes me so upset. They only gave 2 days warning that they were going to start construction. If i had a good 2 or 3 weeks I could have held off on starting any other eggs. I had planned to set more eggs a week from today but am not sure now. I have to wait until they are done with construction or set my incubator at someone elses house away from this construction.
I currently have a 10 day old chick that is alone. I wish I could get one the same age to put with it. The poor thing is alone.
