Japanese bantam egg production?

I finally got my first Japanese Bantam egg today. She is 24 weeks old tomorrow. Im so excited! Does anyone have a pic of a first laid pullet egg as compared to a full/normal size Jap egg. Im curious because I want to start incubating her eggs but dont know what size eggs are concidered a full/normal size egg.

Chicken PIcken,

Usually once pullets start laying, there isn't much variation in egg size. I would say the hens eggs are larger because they are older and are bigger. I think it would be ok for you to start incubating once you have at least 5-7 eggs. I usually incubate eggs no older than 7 days.

There can be a large variation in size when a pullet starts to lay. They will work up over a period of three months or so to reach their full size.

I was specficially referring to Japanese bantams whose egg size remains quite constant during their short laying cycle. .

Thanks for the replys. I did set her eggs 7 in total. 3 are on day 13 all developing great. And another 4 eggs that are on day 4 so I will check them soon, maybe tomorrow to see how they are developing.

Hope you are able to have a good hatch. I will be incubating my 1st batch of eggs this coming Friday.

Well, I got new Japanese bantams yesterday!

4 roosters and 4 hens.
The red rooster are the father some of them.

I have 4 reds and 4 silvers japanese bantams.
2 of silvers are son to the Red one.

his comb was damaged by frostbite, Its getting better. still healing it with the "jelly".

One of them have a rosecomb!
I NEVER seen a japanese bantam with the rosecomb.

My Japanese Bantam is 5 months old and just started laying last Saturday! She laid 2 eggs the first day, 2 eggs the next day, skipped a day, and has laid 1 a day since. I have heard that they can lay multiple eggs a day in the beginning while their bodies are getting conditioned to egg laying. Good luck!
