What color was the Japanese parent?

No idea. She was from an auction my boss went to.

Leg color says otherwise, though. White leghorns and Japs both have yellow legs. The bird in question has darker colored legs with a yellow tinge. But I could be wrong.

EDIT: the legs might be yellow... can we have more pics of the legs? But she has too much leakage to be a white leghorn x Japanese Bantam imho

Almost all White Leghorns are dominant white which would cancel out the black plumage.

Unless they have one copy of dom white, in which case most would still appear white but their offspring may not.

I’m still not sold on the white leghorn x jap. Bantam mix. Stance and color leakage is just off for that cross, I think. She could even be a Japanese Bantam mix x Japanese Bantam mix for all we know.

Yellow legs
Recessive mottling
Correct color for leakage

Her legs are more yellow than her toes which are yellow green.
