Three more days of waiting to see if my White Japanese Blacktail pullet will hatch her 4 eggs. I have 3 pullets that are 28 weeks old today, and two went broody , so I set some eggs under each one to see what they would do. Of those two pullets, the one I call Whitefeathers acts like she knows what she's doing. She won't move off her nest, just ruffles her feathers and pecks my hand when I check on her. 2feathers, on the other hand, sets a few days, gets off and eats and drinks, takes a dust bath, then heads back to the nest. She doesn't like it when I check on her, and flies off the nest, so I don't bother her at all. 3feathers is a true layer so far. She was the last pullet to begin laying 5 weeks ago, and is very consistent in giving 5 eggs a week. I want more like her.
