Japanese Bantam Thread!

He/she hatched three days ago. I will try to get a better picture. This is my first time with Japanese. The hatch mates run around just fine, but seem to.have a bit longer of legs.

I will try to gets decent pictures of my short legged serama chicks for comparison. They are three weeks old, so your Japanese chick would not be a lot smaller. I have four Japanese bantam chicks the same age as the serama; they are more than twice as big.

hard to get a good picture lol. He is so wobbly. That would be great to compare! I just hatched a few serama too. These ones have WAY longer legs than the Japanese I hatched.

Very hard to get a good picture. Serama are supposed to have long legs, but I like the looks of the short legs. Below is a picture of my best serama chick. Very tiny-much smaller than her siblings-half the size of a serama chick a week older.

I sure hope she grows to maturity.

Your little bantam may turn out just fine as he grows. Give him a little poultry drench just a tiny drop for vitamins every other day to help his well being.

Forgive my intrusion please. I was told that this was the place to go for Japanese Bantam sexing. I believe the word used was "expert"! Lol. I have what I believe to be a Japanese Buff Bantam. I think it's a cockerel bc the comb looks pretty red to me. I can't say how old it is for sure, but I think it's about 3 months. Any help is appreciated.

Pullet. My six week old cockerels have bigger combs. Smaller bantam breeds mature much faster than the bigger breeds.

Thanks for the opinion. Do you have any pics of them for comparison? Do you know if there is any way for me to judge the age besides guessing?
