Japanese Bantam Thread!

I NEED jap bantams (not serema or other similar breeds)! I am a sucker for mini chickens, even though they're mostly only good as pets. I have silkies and just adore them. The problem is I can't find a decent jap bantam breeder who ships eggs? Can anyone source me some please? would love to hatch some this spring.

Please people, lets stick to topic here on Japanese Bantams. The word "Jap" is referring to the chicken and is no way a derogatory word toward a group of people. This is not a thread on being politically correct here, it is simply about a breed of chicken.

Yes, I like the Japanese bantams, but nothing beats my serama; but then, they have Japanese ancestors.

Dottie my Japanese Bantam is the supermom of all moms. She has raised up three broods and is the perfect foster mother.

Speckled eggs?

We have Black tailed Whites and at least one of the hens lays speckled eggs. They are purebred and there are no other chickens with them, so they are definitely from one of the hens. But I had not heard of speckled eggs. anyone else?

My rooster has been feeling a little frisky the past few day he has taken a likeness to my sons 1 yr old show hen. My question is if she starts laying can i let one of the 2 long legged hens we cant show sit on the eggs?
