You are very kind to promote my book. It's simply a collection of what I learned from other more mature experienced breeders like Paul Kroll. He is great asset to the Japanese Breed. I wish you well with your venture and thanks for being honest about the origin of the bird.

Hi guys!

I have some questions about Japanese Bantams, I am thinking of getting them because of some reasons.

I have a small coop and run. I think these birds are the size I am met to have.

I originally thought I wanted wynadottes because of their egg laying ability...but now I think the breed will be too big for my backyard/set up.

I was wondering how big the eggs are really. Does anyone have a picture to compare to a "normal" egg.

I also hear they are a calm bird, but then I go on some websites and they say they are "flighty"

How much does your hens weigh on average?

I rather get information from "real people" and not websites that dont have uniform information...

Japanese bantams can be flighty if they are not handled, but if you handle them from chcik up, they are very friendly. Unfortunately japanese hens only lay about 50 eggs a year because they are very good mothers they want to hatch after they lay a dozen or few eggs. Afull grown hen weighs about 22 ounces.
