Our first ever baby chick was hatched under 2 broodies (long story) a week ago. The two silkies who s/he hatched under have reached agreements on how to share her-him. But we have another broody who is VERY jealous. She sits where the silkies have been sitting, and follows them and the chick around everywhere. She bullied the chick when she first was born and ended up hurting it (but she's fine). I really feel bad for her cause she has been broody for 2 months and neither of her eggs hatched. Would it work if we went to the chick store and bought a day old chick to just put under her? It would be awesome if she accepted her, but what would happen if she decided no? Thanks for the help.
