Sorry! Had an unplanned automotive repair that ate up the roof budget. Plus the standard spring weather ups/downs and getting the cool season garden planted. Planning on working on it tomorrow though, so there will be pics.

Tell me about it...had to rig up something quick when they were sailing out of the brooder (they had outgrown it anyway), but they're pretty happy right now in their temporary dog kennel digs. Just going to have to wait to put the HWC on the coop til the last minute since it's currently wrapped around and over top of the kennel.

So while I spent the day at it, not a lot of progress to demonstrate. I spent part of the day screwing the tops of the wall panels together (didn't have the ladder last time), attaching the top plate, and cutting the lumber for the rafters. The rest of the day was spent figuring out the logistics of raising the rafters by myself. I figured it out and it's going to be a pain, but oh well. Have to knock off a bit earlier than I like as I need some different screws and there's not enough daylight left. In any case, here's the picture for the day as I was still trying to figure things out:

Sometimes the job for the day is planning and figuring...so not a lot to show, but essential to move forward on the next work day.

Yeah I know. Just was hoping to get the rafters up today since storms are forecasted for tomorrow. Maybe it won't rain until later in the day...

May be getting a really nice 6x8' greenhouse with a raised cedar floor off of craigslist for a steal...will know by the end of the day. If it happens, then this weekend will be spent disassembling, transporting, and reassembling. Crossing my fingers because I will then be kicking all the younger chicks out of the house and into a greenhouse brooder. Which will subsequently be transformed into the silkie/cochin/polish/misc bantie garden coop!

, are you considering attaching it to your coop, so during winter your girls can enter a warmer spa.???

I haven't heard anything yet but if I do get it, it will be in a separate area of the property than the main coop, so no. But I DID consider doing polycarbonate sheathing on the one of the walls when I build the planned addition to the coop! Probably the east wall since that will help everything warm up after cooling down at night. It's looking like I'll be going right into the construction of the addition, so I'll only be covering the second doorway with either a temporary piece of plywood, or more likely a hardware-cloth screen door.
