I'm not looking for A++ show quality, but if anyone has some affordably priced quality Jersey Giant hatching eggs I would be very interested in hearing your prices. I'm looking to start the foundations for a self-sustained meat and egg flock and want better quality that hatchery birds.

I really appreciate the help!

I'm not experienced with chickens, but we just picked up some BJG chicks (and some other breeds) at the Eagle Nest hatchery (OH). The chicks were $2.00 a piece and are listed as "Exhibition Quality". The BJG are listed also as "Limited Availability" - I was picking up chicks and called 1 day prior to picking them up and asked if any were available, was told No, but they may have extra - depends on hatching success. I asked to have 2 added to my order, if any were available. They were available (good hatch rate, I guess) and I now have 2 BJG chicks! The hatchery indicates they sell hatching eggs too, but have no idea if they sell BJG eggs. Here are links:

and I also found this: http://nationaljerseygiantclub.com/index.cfm/home
The club might have breeders listed or could further your investigation, and might help.

The BJG chicks (straight run) that we picked up:
