Jersey Giants thread for pictures and discussion

Has anyone had any feathering issues with your Jerseys? I'm wondering if it was the feed, so I switched to Purina now that we have a TSC store. Mine are getting bigger, but still need the heat lamp, so I've got them divided now: 3 blue/splash (whatever) in one brooder box and 4 black in the other. I'll have to get a pic for an example. Basically it looks almost like a leaf when a caterpillar has eaten it and there's a leaf skeleton left behind. Or like someone made it frizzy.

I love that blue roo! Ya know, I have heard of alot of people having issues lately with feed not having enough vitamins and minerals needed. I understand the feed companies use only the minimum amount needed "by most," poultry. Some just happen to require more.

Good luck with your Giants, Tom. They are looking great!

OH NO!!! I feel for you - I lost a favorite banty roo last year when I didn't lock up the coop early enough one night, and I cam in to see a raccoon going at him. I know how you feel -it just hurts!

My splash was looking like this until she was allowed to free range for a couple of weeks. She has come around now and looks normal. Maybe add a vitamin supplement to the water/feed to help.
