I noticed some of the birds in those pics have combs/wattles, others don't. Is there a reason for that? I'm wondering at what age those both develop. Mine are 9.5 weeks old and only the 2 biggest roos even have any red color where their combs will eventually come in. These are my first chickens, thanks!

Now that is a very good question. We all have to learn. Those with the red wattles and combs are roosters. They develop before the girls do. The girls will grow theirs later, close to when they begin to lay eggs, and theirs will be smaller than the roosters'.
