Jersey Giants thread for pictures and discussion

Back in May I got 2 chicks . The lady at Agway said that they where both black Australops. Well one was a yellow chick and it turned out to be a all white easter egger. The other chick got really big and i think it might be a nj. Today I took a few pics of her. It would make my week if she is:love

I'm far from an expert in telling one breed from another. But I know that JG's have yellow bottomed feet and BA's do not.

Sure looks like your gal has yellow feet. So I'm going to venture that you have a Jersey Girl there. But I'll let others weigh in as well just to confirm.

Looks like a JG to me too.

X2!

Those yellow feet are a dead giveaway. All my 'Lorps have porcelain-pink colored feet bottoms! :D You've got a beautiful JG.

Congrats!

Looks like the face of a Jersey.  That was my first pick for chicks back in 2007, and I still think they're great.  I also have 2 Jersey roosters.

She so sweet. Vickie is 21 weeks. She hasn't lay a egg yet. How big do the hens get? I would love love to have a rooster it would be so cool seeing one of those big boys in my yard. I wish I could have roosters I just love them.

My oldest pullet is about 20 weeks, and she just started laying this week. I have 18 (or 19) other pullets at 18 weeks, with no eggs yet. I have 2 roosters, Bigfoot and Clyde, and one other I still haven't figured out yet! (but I think it's a rooster too.).

The hens will usually get in the 10 to 12 pound range.
