Look back through the last page of posts, before all the chick pics. I posted a pic of some 12 week old pullets. The one on the right is over melanized. Look at her comb and wattles compared to the one on the left.

Update on "Streaky" my 'stunted/dwarf' BJG. Well she got feathered enough togo outside with her sister "BooBoo" the other week. The re-pecking order wasn't bad. She's growing but still smaller than "BooBoo". And guess what... "Streaky" turns out to be a darn rooster!!

Update on "Streaky" my 'stunted/dwarf' BJG. Well she got feathered enough togo outside with her sister "BooBoo" the other week. The re-pecking order wasn't bad. She's growing but still smaller than "BooBoo". And guess what... "Streaky" turns out to be a darn rooster!!

You have all the "roo luck"! I ordered 15 pullets and 2 cockerels from Cackle Hatchery. Actually received 20 birds, but only 2 were cockerels. Since I already had 1 pullet, I have a ratio of 2/19!

You lucky dog! Don't complain about to many hens! I have 1 BJG girl, 4 BJG boys and 1 that turns out to be a hen, BUT ITS A BLACK SEXLINK!!!

I wanted to say welcome to Backyard Chickens!

I'm not sure there is a sex linked Jersey Giant. Maybe someone else will chime in and help clear up your question?

I'm not into genetics, but you would end up with a cross that may or may not be sex linked. Either way, it would no longer be a Jersey Giant.

It should definitely be a sex link. Chicks with white spot would be cockerels and all black would be pullets. Note: all sex links are hybrids. Auto sexing are pure bred.
