Jersey Giants thread for pictures and discussion

The black and the white ones are Jersey Giants. The others we have are Welsummers. This is when the jersey's were 5 weeks old and the Welsummers were 6 weeks. They are now 8 and 7 weeks

Can you post a pic of all three? I have had folks sell me giants that ended up australorps. Giants always have black eyes and yellow bottom feet. Beaks as chicks are mostly black. Meyer has not done me wrong in past, but I have never ordered multiple breeds. The chick in pic resembles giant, but I need to see them together.
Here they are at 6 days old. To further confuse the issue, I got my chicks & pics mixed up in my original post so I'm re-numbering them.

This is Chick # 5 in the front – Blackest legs & feet, least amount of white on feathers, most ridgey beak - Black Orpington? I'm thinking Orpington because her beak ridges & wing feathers look so much like my 2 older Orpingtons did at this age, she is the same size as they were, and her tail feathers are sprouting at the same rate as the Buff Orpington I received with her (same age):

Chick # 7 – Yellowest Feet bottoms, black beak w/pink tip, whitest shoulders – Jersey Giant? This is the one some of you thought may be the Jersey Giant; you can see in this pic how much more yellow the bottoms of her feet are getting - the one that may be the Australorp has no yellowing on her feet - all pink (her foot is in the back). Chick #7 is on our left as we look at the picture:

Chick # 8 – The one Ron thought may be the Australorp in my original post, her toes & bottom of feet are pink. She is the biggest of the 3 by far, half pink half black beak, on our right in back as we look at the picture - Australorp?:

Any thoughts?

i know this is the BJG thread but about an hour ago i found one of my 4 1/2 month old Ameracuana's breathing like a kazoo and tame, sitting in my lap!!! the tame part worries me more actually! (those 1/2 the time RIP on me!)

I'm still sticking with #7.

Hard call tween a and g as chicks, if legs are thicker on one v other, good chance a g. I incubated g and my friends chicken who had Australorp, gave her chick back, and it was giant hen.! Tough

Curious question about my boy. He is hatchery but I still think he's beautiful lol. He has all black nails except the center one is normal colored. Thought it was interesting. is that a normal thing?

No. Sounds like he is over melanized. He is a good looking bird, though. How old is he?

He is 16 weeks. Been crowing for a few weeks now. Big Wattles and comb. His feathering is gorgeous..at least to me...first rooster I have ever had so he is just neat to me. I'll try to get a good close up of his feathers tomorrow. Not sure what melanized is, but I am going to Google it ;)

It means too much black pigmentation. For a good example of over melanization Google anya cemani chicken.
I have a BJG pullet right now, and her comb is coming in black, this is over melanization.
