Jersey Giants thread for pictures and discussion

Holy cow that JG is HUGE! I am new to backyard chickens and have been reading so many threads.
I originally bought what I was told was an australorp but after reading a thread, learned that the feet of
a JG are yellow and australorps are not. Well, the next day I noticed yellow bottoms on the feet of my black Ninja.
Am excited regardless of what she is. She is much larger than the other chicks I bought at the same
time. Almost twice their size. The only difference I can tell in her vs the pix I see here are that she has
two white feathers on either side of her vent. She must be a mix of something. Regardless, she's ours
and she's wonderful. Just waiting for those eggs in another few months.
Peace :>

Hey, Diana - they're looking GREAT! What does "with a potato" mean?

It means it's a poor quality picture or video. Commonly used in reference to bad you tube videos.

Urban dictionary says:

An object of poor quality. Usually a video camera or a microphone.
"This youtube video quality sucks. Was it filmed with a potato?"

Maggie is growing her feathers back.

How old, heavy, tall is he, He look monstrous.
I don't want to answer for Diana, but I "think" she told me they were 7 months in these pics, and one was 7.5#, the other was, I believe, 8.5#. Good question on how tall! (these are 2 different cockerels. Seems odd to call a bird that large a cockerel!)

Wynette's right! They are just shy of 7 months in those pics! However they are just a tad heavier than 7.5 and 8.5 lbs. As best as I could weigh them, one was 10.5, and the other was 11.5! So I just call them about 11lbs each! At just 7 months! They are going to be some monsters as adults! Wynette's got some HUGE stock!

Wynette, how heavy is your boy?
