Well, the one up front wants to sit on my lap or arm all the time, and she? talks alot. The one in the corner is prob a male, but I kept him because he was born with a disfigured eye. He'll just be a pet.

I grabbed a couple pictures of my Jersey Giants yesterday. They are over 6 months old, and no sign of eggs yet! They were hatched Sept 21, 2009 from Maria Hall. I will try to get better pictures tomorrow.

I totally agree!

Kathy, WOW!!! I am SO jealous!!!!! I am hoping to add Maria Hall blood in the fall! I have a huge breeding/gene program I am starting. I hope to be up to adding the Hall genes this fall or early next spring. It really depends on how the birds respond. LOL

God Bless!

These two Splash girls have always hung out together! Here they are on watch duty! When do you suppose they will ever lay an egg ????

I like this comb best of all my roosters:

Mr. Splash is good sized, but has a crappy comb ...

WHOOO WHOOOOOOOO!!!! Got our first JBG egg today!! YAY! I was so excited to see one of 2 girls sitting in her nest this morning, so i left her there to finish up, and came back an hour later....and there it was!! A teeny, tiny, dark tan egg! We all had such a giggle over how cute it was. I took some pics, but havent got them into the computer yet.... We are so glad she finally layed, maybe her sister will take that as a hint and follow suit???

Wasnt a fart egg though- it had a yolk, but it was a very light yellow yolk. i thought free rangers with good diets had orange yolks?? My other hens have orange yolks.....maybe its just a first egg thing.

Oh, and my cross breed hen (polish/marans) is now broody and sitting on her eggs, who were fertilized by my JBG roo!! Anyone who lives near us who wants any chicks that may hatch- send me a PM!! She started sitting yesterday, yes, April fools day, after a few days of false starts, so we'll see........but I have high hopes as her mom was a broody hen who hatched her eggs very successfully.

Thank you! Really thoough, I am not yet satisfied. I have some eggs in the incubator from a breeder in Utah, and I hope they add better qualities to my stock. I will keep working at them until I am happy with them.
