Thanks, Kathy. I just can't part with the 2 guys. I don't know why anyone wouldn't want JG's, I don't think any personality compares, (well maybe barred rocks-I only have one). They were my first choice 3 years ago, and still my first choice today.

And I think I'm finally going to get those blue/splash eggs. I can't wait

to you Kathyinmo on those eggs!!!
I have some eggs on the way from Bobbi Porto and am putting an order together for some eggs from Wynette (thank you sooo much for the heads up!) I did make sure to tell her she has you to thank for sending me her way! I CAN NOT WAIT!

We had 5 chicks hatch these past 3 days- Jersey Giant (black) crossed with our Buff Laced Polish Marans cross hen- so far we have 4 chicks that look like JBG'S and 1 Yellow butter ball that looks like its momma when momma was a chick. Will be posting pics later tonight!

Okay I can now officially join this thread.

My BBS Jersey Giants from Wynette hatched a week ago, but here's some pics (finally) of them from today.

And this is a famous little runt - Poor thing hatched with its yolk still attached and eventually got pecked and burst open. The poor chick nearly died by the time I pulled it out of the bator, but somehow made it, even though for 24 hours it wouldn't even open its eyes. It is still really small and kinda featherless, but doing quite well.

Total, I got 10/11 hatched, but a day later I lost a black, then two days after that I lost a blue. Now I'm at 8 Jersey Giants and that MUST be final for the next 6 or so months.

Hello.
I am new and I think we have figured out, with the help of this forum, that the little chickens are jersey giants. Well, all except one of them

Here are a few pictures of them. Some from when they were about a week old and some from today at about 4 or 5 weeks old. I just wanted eggs, but have been told I may have a few roos in there

I checked the bottom of their feet and they are yellow. When I picked them up they felt a little skinny to me. Not one, but all of them. I am not sure how they are supposed to feel. I used to raise parrots and they are fat

Please let me know what you think. Thanks so much
