Jersey Giants thread for pictures and discussion

Here are a few pictures of my Jersey Giants. We have 2 and love them dearly!!! One is dark black and the other is a lot lighter. They are about 8 months old.

Anyone in MO, I'm selling my blue Jersey Giant roo from my Bobbi Porto hatch, and maybe a black JG hen to go with him from the same hatch. I already e-mailed Kathy. The boys are starting to duel with each other, and they are still eating, and eating, and eating.........

I'm get my chicks this weekend, 1 JG (straight run), 1 Buff Orpington pullet, 1 Barred Rock pullet, 1 Ameraucana pullet & 1 RIR pullet all from the feed store down the street.
I do have a couple of questions, can someone help me?

1. can you tell by looks if a chick is male or female?
2. If I do end up with a rooster, will he be too big for my smaller hens?

Question, I have 2 Black Jersey giant hens, and 1 Splash. My Rooster is also Splash. Will I get:
75% Splash
25% Black
??????????

Blue x Blue will give you 25% Black (without the blue gene) 50% Blue (with one blue gene) 25% splash (with two blue genes).

Black x Blue will give you 50% Black and 50% Blue.

Black x Splash will give you 100% Blue.

Blue x Splash will give you 50% Blue and 50% Splash.

Splash x Splash will give you 100% Splash

I think you can only "Vent" sexing only when the are a day old.
