Probably cushion combs don't get frostbite because as you say Tara, other birds like to perch on them. I would think after a while the perchee would have a headache.

People see with different eyes.... Common sense for me may not be common sense to you... You know what I mean?
Some of the hiccups in the Cushion comb...the expression is not to have the genetic expression of the Transverse Groove...the SOP does not make allowances for it even if the genetics of Pea and Rose combs will make this happen. To bad, so sad, suck it up Buttercups!![]()
- American Bantam Association’s (ABA) poultry Standard says, “COMB: Cushion – small, set firm and low on forepart of head, front not to extend beyond nostrils, extending backward to middle of eye; front, rear and sides nearly straight, surface smooth.”

Agreed...don't think I can even think as fast as she can type.I was wondering to how many words a minute Tara can type... Must be typing at a dangerous clip...
Being on my 5th beer....I will have to re-read that tomorrow morning....it took 14 minutes to load on my phone.
Tara: how many words per minute do you type?
It would take me 2 days to type 1 of your posts
Some days you post 3-4.
Do you have a publicist and photographer follow you around at the rat ranch?

I dont know about Tara but I can write a thousand words in about two hours by hand. Transcription takes about twenty minutes.
It really depends on your subject and interest.

Tara, I don't know anything about limestone. Does it compact well and where do you get it? How many inches of sand do you use in your houses and what do you have under the sand? I added about 4" of sand to my run last year and of course the girls have scratched and dug until I can't even tell the sand from the dirt. I should have lined the run with something before I added the sand. The girls had a good time anyway...as they say live and learn.
