I know that you have a lot of anger towards God but if you were the Christian that you say you were at one time.I know that you would have experienced his love at it's best.God never promised there wouldn't be trial and tribulations and if you think back when you used to read your Bible you will remember that the saint's and prophet's of old never had an easy road. How many times was Paul thrown in jail? Yet he said I press toward the high mark in Christ Jesus.John was exiled on a deserted island and blinded but he still trusted God to lead him to the ultimate goal of a home in Heaven.Maybe your son being there is suppose to keep your eye's on the prize. We can't understand God's thinking and we shouldn't try to.David lost his whole family due to one sin.He had the same decision to make that you do now. That is trust God and you will see your son again just as David did.Job was a righteous man but he was tempted and tried more than any other person in the Bible but in his own words he said
15 Though he slay me, yet will I trust in him: but I will maintain mine own ways before him.

16 He also shall be my salvation
I know that God has been dealing with you about this and He wants to restore your relationship with Him.He wants you to return to Him and allow Him to minister to your heart. He promised He would never forsake you nor leave you and in the words of Isaiah
2 When thou passest THROUGH the waters, I WILL be with thee; and THROUGH the rivers, they shall NOT overflow thee: when thou walkest THROUGH the fire, thou shalt NOT be burned; neither shall the flame kindle upon thee.

3 For I am the LORD thy God, the Holy One of Israel, thy Saviour:

Please don't be upset but I had to give you what I felt the Lord layed on my heart. All I'm trying to do is obey Him and everything else is up to you.May God bless you and if I can help you in anyway you can contact me by pm.

we are so blessed again this week! not with just material things, but of the heart.
grateful are we. we seek His face and NOT His hand, but amazing how His hand is always HOLDING us up, even through illness, financial woe and more.

i want to be the leper that goes back to say THANK YOU JESUS!

THANKS LORD! trials will probably pound me, i welcome them. i have faced death, heart ache, loss in every sense, yet i know it is the fact that He is King that is all i need to concentrate on.

Bless you all, fully and a renewing of mind, soul and spirit.

I was a practicing Catholic until I decided to follow the Satanic path. If you really believe God is your saviour, then you must agree with everything in the Bible according to Christian doctrine. I took the time to read the bible cover to cover, more than once, since I went to a Catholic school and was also an alter boy at my former church.

Here are a couple things that I found challenging to my faith when I was Christian.....

Leviticus 20:9
If anyone curses his father or mother, he must be put to death.

Exodus 35:2
For six days, work is to be done, but the seventh day shall be your holy day, a Sabbath of rest to the LORD. Whoever does any work on it must be put to death.

Deuteronomy 7:1-2 When the Lord your God brings you into the land you are entering to possess and drives out before you many nations . . . then you must destroy them totally. Make no treaty with them, and show them no mercy.

Ezekiel 20:25-26 I also gave them over to statutes that were not good and laws they could not live by; I let them become defiled through their gifts—the sacrifice of every firstborn—that I might fill them with horror so they would know that I am the LORD.

Ephesians 5:22-24 Wives, submit to your husbands as to the Lord. For the husband is the head of the wife as Christ is the head of the church, his body, of which he is the Savior. Now as the church submits to Christ, so also wives should submit to their husbands in everything.

Exodus 21:20-21 If a man beats his male or female slave with a rod and the slave dies as a direct result, he must be punished, but he is not to be punished if the slave gets up after a day or two, since the slave is his property.

(gently suggested) Maybe we can take death "so easily" because we know its not the end for those that have accepted Jesus Christ as their Savior. I doubt that anyone takes death "easily" but we don't need to fear it. I can tell you this, as a Hospice nurse I deal with death on a daily basis. I don't know that anyone takes death "easily", but Christians seem to approach it with more peace and acceptance. We know where we're going and really can't wait to get there.

Oh, jdypat, I am so very sorry for your pain. I, too, have sons and I love them dearly as you love yours. Your post is a gut wrenching, sorrowful song of heartache and I feel for your pain. I really and truly do.

You act as if you can barely go on....but you do. I'm wondering from where your strength to go on is coming? It seems you still have hope for yourself, for your life, for surely someone who is in such despair as yours would surely have ended it by now. Maybe you have hope for a better day? Maybe your cries of pain are shouted in hopes that God will prove his love? If not, then why do you still cry out? In anger? At whom? If God is not listening, then whom? Us? We can't help you, as we are merely human and cannot experience the well of pain from which you drink.

What is it that you are looking for, jdypt?

Vindication? Revenge? An explanation? How can we help you? Do you want us to stop being happy so you can better share your pain? I'm not asking these questions to make fun or be mean....I honestly would like to understand why you are telling us about this unless you wanted someone to understand, to tell you why, to help you through, or to hurt someone as badly as you hurt? How can we help? Please tell us... :aww

Those were under the old mosaic law and they were to be followed. However since the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ we are no more under the submission of those laws.Under that law an adulterer was to be put to death but in the New Testament Jesus saved the woman who was caught in the very act and he told the crowd to let he who without sin cast the first stone. When they all turned away he asked the woman where are thine acusers?Jesus said neither do I condem you. Go and sin no more. The most familiar scripture that most everyone learns as a child is John 3-16.16For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. How many of you know John 3-17? 17For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.

The blood of the New Testament changed all of those laws. When it says God so loved the world it doesn't mean the actual Earth but his people who are made in the image of Christ.

Y'all realize, I hope, that you are trying to argue theology with someone whose avatar and sig line changes religions like clockwork every coupla months?

Not saying you can't post here but its kind of silly to argue or try to discuss something of this nature. People have been arguing this since the beginning of time and have not resolved or agreed upon the issue. Why try to do it on a Backyard Chicken forum? Not exactly the time or place, is it?

I understand what you are trying to say but my Bible said if i was ashamed of Him before men then he would be ashamed of me before the Father which is in Heaven.Remember the great commission? It is our duty as a christian to tell the world about Christ and if we don't take advantage of every opportunity we have then we will have to answer when we stand before the Son.Jesus was persecuted and I expect no less but I will continue to do my christian duty so that I may please Him.Obedience is better than sacrifice. However we must do it with a loving and caring attitude so that the world may see Jesus in us.
