True, Jethro is a silkie after all. Yesterday I had to go herd Jethro back to the flock. She was out in the woods, happily scratching around all by herself. Ummm, Jethro..do you know that to a hawk you look very similar to a rat.

I had a rooster once that would sing the egg song.

Silkies do seem to want to practice a bit first before they get on with the egg laying. Maybe he/she is just warming up?

You do realize that because you want them to be broody you will have the world's only non-broody silkies, right? I mean, you DO have a broody meatie and that is darn near impossible!

BTW, Thor sings the egg song all the time right along with his hens. This was different with Jethro though. No one else was singing it.
