That's great!!From my colleague, we have 8! The weak one in the back looks much better as you can see! And it looks like another one just started the beginning of a zip! (Far right)

No need to respond to my question your other thread.Still 10 healthy babies! The side-pip egg didn’t make it. I checked it at lunch and it was not moving, so I peeled a bit of shell away. It was dried out.
The last two eggs I candled. One was moving and at one point covered the air cell during candling? (Not sure what to do about that one but wait), and the other I could see it’s beak poking into the air cell but it looked like it hadn’t poked through it yet. I decided to leave those two eggs in…will candle at lunch tomorrow and may try to assist after school if either is still alive. That would be the start of day 23. Would give any late chick til Friday to make it out before the weekend.
Tomorrow is naming day! I promised the kids they can hold a chick for a second for a pic if they want one but we can’t hold it long. I will demonstrate the proper way. They have been great so far. I have a food and water assistance schedule up, and my first group made a wet mash for the chicks today. We spent quite some time on “scientific observation” (what you all might call chicken TV), and I had them each write two things they learned by observing. After lunch they asked if we could do more “scientific observation”. After we finished math I obliged with a yes.![]()
