Aug 7th here..I have bantams and a "Mystery Pack" of eggs from a friend. 41 in all. Just like a kid at Christmas...JUST DON'T SHAKE THE PACKAGE :0

Hows every one doing?
My broodies are still sitting tight, and due say is tomorrow, I'm so excited.
You never know, some could hatch a little early, so I'm going to go and buy some chick feed today.
What feed is best, medicated or unmedicated chick crumb?
And would my chicks get sick if I dont get the medicated type? They are free range chickens and have access to mud.

Just went to check on broodies and my dear Bess was off the eggs having a drink, so I turned her eggs slowly one by one and saw nothing different, until I got to the last one.
It had a bit of shell missing underneath and I could she a bit of blood on the membrane. I have never looked at these eggs since the hens have been sitting and just leaft them too it. I thought that she had perhaps stood on the egg and broken it so I picked it up and held it to my ear. I could hear a constant, tap, tap, tap, and imediately put the egg down.
A few minutes later Bess went back, and rather clumsily sat back on the eggs. My other broody Silvia is sitting tight, so I have no idea whats going on there.
I shall check on them before I go to bed, in another 10hours (England) and hopefully there may be a little chick poking its head out

I think the official term is, we have a pip!!!

Well mine are going into lockdown in one hour, be glad to not have to turn any longer, cause I want to candle so bad!! So say'n a chick prayer and hoping for the best!!

I have 6 american game hens due the 29th
