July 29th Hatch along..anyone due for a hatch around then?

I came on this morning hoping to see some pictures.

Hey they'reHischickens, do you have pictures? Maybe you show the carton when they've hatched. I would like to see how you did the bottom also.

Cosmo? Where are you? You left us hanging! More pictures...pleeeze?

Thanks Cynthia! The first link didn't work...but the second one was quite informative. I think I'll keep an eye on her and see if she wants to come out later. She hardly moved when I gave her breakfast this morning...and usually she's ready to get off the nest first thing in the morning. She has a case of sour crop and I want to make sure she gets a little exercise...I've been massaging her crop every time I see her out of the nest and wonder if she'll get sicker if I don't do it.

I have 42 Dominque eggs in the incubator due on 30 July,I will be using the paper egg cartons at lock down. I have had great luck using the egg cartons and it makes clean up a lot easier.

I've heard it makes less of a mes...and it makes sense to keep them snug..after reading that post I posted. Do you have a picture for us?

Also, I have been considering Dominque's for a while...love the Barred Rocks..is there much of a difference in personality? For me, they look a lot alike, but I'm sure to those that have had both, can see quite a difference! I just know that I love the Barred Rocks personality so far.

I think it's funny to hear how many broody hens get all uppity and start pecking the hand that feeds them. My broody clearly doesn't like me coming near her...she ruffles her neck feathers and makes a funny little trilling sound, but she accepts it. Last night I moved all of her eggs right from underneath her to the new nursery kennel, and she wasn't hostile at all...just a bit confused. But she seems to LOVE the bit of extra space she has in the new nest. My husband thinks I'm crazy obsessed! He came home from work yesterday to a house of chaos, as I was so busy making the new mini-coop, that I didn't clean up at all. He even had to pick up some chinese for dinner- one advantage to being obsessed!! I love my chickens!

I'm in lockdown everyone, these are my RIR's that have that beautiful mahogony color. Also, the ones that came in that crunched box from the P.O. Didn't get many to lockdown after tossing the bad ones origianally..but the 5 that made it after tossing are still doing well.
I have marked the crazy air sacs...I don't have these in a carton, but really want to try with my next hatch..due the first part of Aug.
The air sacs in those look great..not shipped.

Congrats on all the little fuzzy butts being hatched. I have pair of 6 1/2 month old blue silkies, she has been laying eggs every other day faithfully. So far I have hatched out all the eggs she has beening laying in the incubator. I have 7 in the incubator going in lockdown Thursday. I decided to just stop taking her eggs from her to see if she would go broody, and sure enough after laying her 5th egg she went broody, those should hatch around the 30th.
