So far I have 2 GCMarans out with 2 more close, 1SPR 2 others no pips and 2 Ameracaunas 1 blue and 1 black with 2 more to go they are really due tomorrow but they couldn't wait and best of all my 20 week old CMarans started laying today 2 eggs

@Lotsa: Yeah for your chicks!! Did your Marans have any trouble hatching? I have 3 BCM eggs and my last (1st ever) hatch I had 11 and more than 1/2 died during lockdown and I didn't get any BCM chicks. I am hoping it was a fluke and that my 3 eggs will do much better this time!!!

Great pics of your broody hens & their chicks. But....... I thought for sure after hatching in those bunny cages, they'd have long floppy ears & cotton tails. They're adorable anyway! Congrats!

All of these hatches & wonderful pics of the chicks really make me miss incubating. Have a little wait till around Sept. before I start up again. Have not been well for about a week; but now that I'm doing better, it has been such a delight to see how well everyone is doing with their hatches. Really cheared me up.

I have to thank you all for being so kind & supportive to each other. Such a great group of people from all over joining in & sharing here on the BYC. Will be starting the 'AUGUST HATCH-A-LONG come join in' this weekend, for those of you who are on a roll into next month. Will post that site address when it's up.

Happy hatching everyone! Have fun with your chicks, poults, phesants, quail, ducklings, etc.

for your little BCMs!

Ked, where are we on the peafowl eggs? Do they have light enough shells you can candle them?

Lotsapaints, congrats on your hatchlings! I'd love to see them.

Sundown, you probably have all of them out by now!

Keep it up, everyone!! This is my prime time programming.

Congratulations all on your hatching,

I had to take hubby to town to catch a plane.......and when I returned there
was 1 already hatched and 5 pips......

only 2 of which were due tomorrow the rest were supposed to be on the 10th!

So the Hatch has officially begun 1 and 2 days early!

If the air cells are okay they hatch I've been having excellent hatches of goldens I've given up on BC the ones I do hatch are not very correct color wise they are not old enough to lay so who knows what color the eggs will be...I have some really nice Goldens so I'm going to work with them and maybe get Silver Birchen those have nice dark eggs also

Candled last night. 8 eggs with definite signs of chicky growth in the shells with nice air cells, 8 were clear so finally on day 13 removed them from bator. Will lock down on Wed so one more check then.

Just cranked up the bator! 5 marans, 5 Jersey giants, 1 welsummer, 2 turkeys, 2 mystry eggs-one large, maybe a langshan, the other very pointy, fingers crossed that it's a turken. I have 4 bantam show girls under my mom's silkie hen started on July 1st.
