Today is day 21 for our Broody and her clutch of eggs (started out with 12, she pushed one out of the nest on Tuesday, so we have 11 now)
at 6:30 am, we could see one egg with a pip hole, at 9:00 am, when I just couldn't stay away any longer.. when I peeked underneath Jerry (broody hen) to see her clutch, there were several pips and lots of peeping!!
It's been an hour and I'm determined to wait another 30 minutes before I check in on them.. I can't remember being so excited, since a being a child on christmas morning!

Hopefully at my 10:30 visit I will get a few good pictures to post of the progress!!!

I HAVE CHICKS! I just looked and there was one sitting where there was an egg a few minutes agooo and there was a head popped out of the one above it :O Counting the one I assisted we have three and another pipped.

The head popper just slid out when I was trying to see if I could record it

Bad news. Can't record it XD But hey will once they're dryer and in the brooder. The one I helped is dancing all over the bator trying their darnest to stand up.

WOOT! I have another chick this a.m.! Mama hatched the only EE cross egg she and the BLRW were sitting on! That makes 2 chicks now, and both hens are sitting on 3 more eggs each, with 1 visible pip. (That pip might have been the one I saw last night, though, not sure.)

Kedreeva, I read your reply to me after I'd already moved everyone. DH and I set up a 36 sqft dog kennel, he made a 2x6" board barrier around the outside, and I moved the whole kit-n-kaboodle (cardboard nest box with Mama, chickie and the rest of the eggs in it, then BLRW hen) in underneath a dogloo. There's food for babies and mamas, plus water, sheltered with a tarp to protect from rain and sun. I'm hoping it'll work... I didn't have anywhere else to put everyone to keep them separate from the rest of the flock (and the rest of the flock out of the chick crumbles), and wanted the mamas to brood rather than to do it artificially. Fingers crossed I get more little ones!

removed one egg at day 7 as it had no development so probably a clear then another at day 14 as it didn't have as much development as the others cracked it open to find a very small foetus that looked around 4 days old so not quite sure what happened there? that left 4 that developed and came out in the big wide world yesterday they are a nice mix of colours just have to wait and see what they turn out like still have another 4 eggs from the same birds a week behind that seem to be ok will be putting them under their broody mum soon so she can get to see them hatch

p.s just thought I'd add that their mother is actually the chick in my avatar when she hatched

They are soooo cute. How long after they could sit up/stand did you wait before moving them to your brooder? I helped one of my chicks and now they have two others with them and they all seem to be "fighting" for spots on the egg carton. XD

I HAVE ANOTHER ZII-IIIP

and the three are all trying to get together - ones on the bars trying to get in the egg carton - ones in the egg carton trying to get on the bars XD Silly chicks.

Yea they are in and out of her wings and eating and drinking now... some times the 2 smaller ones head will wobble then they get control of it.
I am exhausted though I don't know how people do this in the 100's I had to take a nap today I was physically exhausted as if I had run all night long.
And when I went to sleep all I did was dream about baby chicks lol how crazy is that.
