Found her this morning stiff as a board. I was just too late tbh. But. At least I have the poly-vi-sol now for next time and four other very healthy chicks and about 8 eggs in my incubator <3
Woo Hoo! I've got 5 now... Plus two pips and one that's doing some serious rockin!
Question though: One of the pippers broke a chunk off the shell but it doesn't look like it broke through the membrane... Is that possible? If so do I need to help it out at some point? I'd be so sad to see it get this far just to suffocate in there
Sorry for all the posts... This is my first time so I'm unbelievably excited!!! I just went to check on them and I actually have 2 more zipping that I didn't even know had pipped yet because they pipped on the bottom!!!!
I also have two additional pips so if everything goes well from here on out I will have at least 9 out of 11 babies!!! I'm almost positive from my day 18 candling that one of the 11 was an early quitter but I left it in to see what would happen... So really it's 9 out of 10... Fingers crossed that bumps up to 10 out of 10!!!
she is on then off. I finally thought she had settled and put good eggs under her. Three days before hatch she leaves to sit on an empty nest. I put her back and hope for the best,. 2 days later I check and she is off again with 3 chicks and some more hatching in the nest she left!!!! How can she be so dumb??? I put her back on and got fingers crossed that the others will finish hatching so I can move her out to a separate box.
